Job Description

Location: St. Louis, MO

Duration: 3 Months, Contract to Hire

Skill Sets:

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field, specialized training, or equivalent work experience
  • 8 years of relevant technical or business work experience
  • Healthcare experience is a must
  • PMI Certification required
  • Skilled in Project Management, has ability to manage small to intermediate projects
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Experience with business writing
  • Ability to prioritize competing interests
  • Experience in a clinical, technology or patient care environment

Key Capabilities: 

  • Lead multiple intermediate/large unrelated projects or one very large project
  • Assembles multiple inter-departmental and cross-functional project teams. Determines staffing mix to ensure best results
  • Provides customer satisfaction leadership, tracking and reporting
  • Establishes and maintains quality and performance standards and measurements
  • Enforces project standards (e.g., Systems Life-Cycle methodology)
  • Communicates regularly to: project sponsor, core team, key stakeholders to seek required approval and/or initiate change
  • Considers strategic alignment of anticipated project outcomes with business needs; improves alignment as needed
  • Approves planned costs for project
  • May monitor or coach lower level project managers
  • Applies expert PM concepts and utilizes PM software to manage a portfolio of projects

Primary Function:

  • Manage the overall coordination status reporting, financials, schedules and stability of project-oriented work efforts, ensures that project goals and objectives are met within agreed upon time, scope and resource requirements
  • Assessing skills and identifying training needs of project team
  • Coordinates work performed by IT staff and internal customers/partners by defining project requirements, performing feasibility and needs/impact assessments

Problem Solving/ Resolution:

  • Resolves highly complex problems, often collaborating with other experts to do so.
  • Recognizes subtle changes or problems in the design or performance of highly complex applications or systems, and intervenes flexibly/creatively to improve performance

Business Acumen:

  • Understands complete life cycles of industry activities (outside of IT) and aligns IT activities to solve complex business problems

Project Management:

  • Defines project scope, objectives and client requirements.
  • Creates project schedule, cost/financial plan, risk mitigation plan, communications plan, quality plan, change control plan, and resource plan to meet project goals within the project scope, timeline, and budget.
  • Creates a collaborative work environment

Resource Estimation:

  • Estimates resource requirements for large projects involving multiple-departments, platforms, technologies, executive sponsors, or particularly high risk business problems
