Job Description

Location: San Jose, CA

Duration: 3 months

Responsibilities:

  • The Data Warehouse ETL Developer and Administrator will support Client integration of large volume and variety of data streams from multiple data suppliers for COVID-19 response
  • Having a Data Warehouse ETL Developer and Administrator on the team will advance the timeline of on boarding large data sets to support COVID-19 situational awareness
  • Scoping, planning, building, testing, validating, and implementing interfaces (including HL7, XML, HTML, FHIR, CDA) between county-wide hospital systems and data suppliers mandated to send surveillance and COVID-19 data
  • Transform data into required formats, automate transformation packages using tools such as SSIS, BIML, VaultSpeed, Mirth
  • Import data into the Client’s surveillance systems and/or other data archival systems
  • In addition to performing this technical work, the Data Warehouse ETL Developer and Administrator also uses their interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills to work with various internal and external stakeholders to define source to target mapping of data elements and to drive each conversion project towards completion
  • Knowledge of healthcare taxonomy and workflows and data handling requirements for HIPAA
  • Experienced in planning, building, testing, validating, and implementing interfaces
  • Working knowledge of HL7 v2.x or higher, XML, SSIS, VBScript, Javascript
  • Integrate data streams from hospital, ambulatory, laboratory, regional health information exchanges and other electronic health data systems with the Public Health Department’s surveillance system
  • Analyze, document and design data requirements and define interface specifications
  • Build, configure, document and maintain interfaces
  • Communicate effectively with end users, IT staff and support iterative quality improvement of the data
