Epic Certified Interface Engine – Bridges Lead

Job Description

Location: Boston, MA

Type: Permanent

  • For this implementation we are seeking an Interface Engine/Epic Bridges Analyst.
  • This position will report to the Integration Manager.
  • The applicant will be responsible for maintaining effective integration among clinical and financial systems.
  • This will be accomplished through a variety of methods including but not limited to the use of HealthShare Ensemble and Epic Bridges HL7 Interfaces and file transfer protocols

In this position you will:

  • Directly mentor, guide, and motivate team analysts through implementation of best practices and Supervise all aspects of day-to-day operations and support
  • Assure work assignments for the team are completed in accordance with established project timelines
  • Assure problem resolutions, either independently and/or collaboratively are completed
  • Identify complex problems, their probable causes, their impact to operations, escalating to appropriate leadership with a recommended optimal course of action
  • Understand the roles and purposes of the interface engine, various server types, networks, and staff throughout the healthcare Information Technology environment
  • Assess and determine the integration needs of various clinical and financial hospital departments in order to develop interfaces to meet integration requirements
  • Validate workflows and analyze, build, and configure new interfaces that utilize multiple protocols
  • Modify and troubleshoot 60+ production interfaces
  • Prioritize and troubleshoot multiple simultaneous complex network/interface problems during times of high patient volume
  • Document procedures and interfaces for operations staff and help desk staff
  • Work closely with vendor interface support staff to implement new and identify and troubleshoot existing interfaces
  • Work with the technology services team to anticipate hardware/software needs of the integration group and document recommendations to management
  • Work with application staff to troubleshoot applications and integration issues
  • Work with a team of information system business analysts and programmers responsible for interface installation, monitoring, troubleshooting, and resolving problems utilizing a variety of tools and applications which may be unique to individual systems.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Minimum of 5 years of Information Systems Integration experience
  • Proficient in integration design, development, and analysis in healthcare setting utilizing HL7 standards and master data management tools
  • Demonstrated ability to mentor, guide, and motivate team analysts through implementation of best practices. Capable of supervising all aspects of day-to-day operations and support
  • Assure work assignments for the team are completed in accordance with an established project timeline
  • Able to independently and/or collaboratively bring problems to complete resolution
  • Able to identify complex problems, their probable causes, their impact to operations, escalating to appropriate leadership with a recommended optimal course of action
  • Experience with InterSystems’ HealthShare Ensemble preferred
  • Experience and certification with Epic Bridges preferred
  • Experience with ETL mapping
  • Experience managing multiple, concurrent projects
  • Proven record of producing quality deliverables and completing projects on time
  • Strong written communication skills, including project documentation and technical writing
  • Strong verbal communication skills while interacting with team members, end users and other departments throughout the organization
  • Demonstrated analytical and problem solving skills
