Job Description

Location: Hartford, CT

Type: Permanent

Responsibilities:

  • Ideal candidate employs proficient analytical skills to define systems requirements and objectives
  • Provides direction on application enhancement requests and communications changes to clients and integrated team members.
  • Prepares formal change implementation plans and monitors their implementation.
  • Prepares written documentation of the need for application changes or replacements, and coordinates staff and manages project plans for their implementation.
  • Drafts project scope plans, project plans, and issue logs; monitors and reports status of project plans to Lead IS staff and/or manager.
  • Educate and coach other team members and work with minimal supervision in support of team members.
  • Provides technical expertise in the supported application.
  • Works with application stakeholders to improve the effective utilization of the application.
  • Participates in, develops, implements, documents and validates comprehensive test plans complying with current standards, designed to produce successful and failed outcomes.
  • Functions as a liaison to the system users and stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical requirements, objectives and operational needs and the relevant system applications.

Education/Experience:

  • Epic Professional Billing Admin – Single Business Office (SBO) Certification or Proficiency required.
  • Module: Professional Billing
  • Epic Professional Billing Claims Proficiency or Certification preferred
  • BA/BS Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business or other related Health Care field preferred, or equivalent demonstrated work experience will be considered in lieu of formal education.
  • HS Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Four to Seven years relevant experience in professional billing within a healthcare environment and understanding of professional and facility operations highly desired or equivalent demonstrated knowledge and capability.
  • Two to Five years Information Systems Analyst experience highly desired.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, Outlook, etc.)
  • Knowledge of project development life cycle.
  • Knowledgeable in policies and procedures related to the professional billing operational functions.
  • Strong attention to detail. Excellent communication & follow-up skills.
  • Creative problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work in a team environment alongside multiple disciplines, including IT staff, end users, clinicians, administrators, etc.

Licenses/Certifications:

  • Epic Professional Billing Admin – Single Business Office (SBO) Certification or Proficiency required
  • Epic Professional Billing Claims Proficiency or Certification preferred
