Job Description

Location: Greater Washington D.C. area

Duration: Permanent

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with managers or practitioners in the business unit to determine systems requirements and functionalities needed in new or revised application
  • Develop detailed specifications of application and document in a form that it can be used for coding application
  • Perform or review coding done to render specifications into application functionalities, screens, or outputs
  • Develop test plan and/or test application in development status or debug application in production mode
  • Document or review documentation of steps in specification development, coding, testing and user acceptance for future reference and for internal control purposes
  • May lead a small project or a segment of a larger project
  • May mentor or provide technical guidance to less experienced staff
  • Java/python (must have)
  • Experience implementing any app on cloud (preferably AWS) (must have)
  • Data related experience via data processing/ data transformation with python or java (must have)
  • Experience with big data processing using Apache Spark framework is a plus
  • Experience with microservices is a plus
  • Experience in building with Automation tools such as (Jenkins, Nexus, Maven and JUnit) as well as CI/CD is a plus
  • Education Level Required – Bachelor Degree or Equivalent
  • Area of Study Preferred – Business or Computer Science
  • 2-4 years of related experience
  • 2+ Years of hands on experience in designing and developing applications on the cloud using Java/python or other development platforms
  • Understanding fundamental design principles behind a scalable application
  • Experience in designing, developing, testing and deploying software
  • Experience working with AWS services such as EC2, RDS, REDSHIFT, S3, LAMBDA, Elastic Beanstalk, SNS, SQS, DynamoDB, Cloudwatch
  • Experience with big data processing using Apache Spark framework is a plus
  • Experience with microservices is a plus
  • Experience in building with Automation tools such as (Jenkins, Nexus, Maven and JUnit) as well as CI/CD is a plus
  • AWS Solutions Architect or Developer Certification preferred
