Job Description

Location: Hartford, CT

Type: Permanent

  • Support workflow analysis, design and build sessions with Subject Matter Experts (business leaders, providers and other ancillary services personnel) and instructional designers.
  • Coordinate & complete in depth and precise investigation and documentation of operational specifications and application functionality related to end user billing and revenue cycle from the technical spectrum
  • Functions as a primary contact to troubleshoot problems and questions from end-users during training, go-live and post go-live periods.
  • Attention to detail is a critical skill for this position.
  • Successful candidates enjoy helping other users learn and adopt usage of the application.
  • They will work closely with system vendors, consultants, and technical services of any given affiliate to ensure product development, implementation, and enhancements meet user specifications.
  • The Revenue Cycle Applications Analyst works under the direction of the applications team lead to design, build, & test revenue cycle systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Accountable for supporting the management of the scope, schedule, and quality of the project within their respective team/area.
  • Analyzes workflow decisions and how they translate into application configurations to ensure system design reflects decisions.
  • Anticipates and provides solutions to complex problems with the necessary priorities.
  • Presents solution to the project and operational leaders within respective team/area.
  • Assists in the development and documentation of internal policies and procedures that will be used in conjunction with the application.
  • Actively participates on weekly team meetings to discuss team and project related activities, issues, change, communications, and updates.
  • Builds effective relationships with clinical and business partners through all the phases of the projects to support completing project’s goals.
  • Collaborates and consults as needed with the Program Director, Project Managers and Application Directors to coordinate activities.
  • Collaborates with Project Managers to create and maintain work plans, issues list, decision lists, risks and status reports
  • Supports all project team members with application and information systems knowledge.
  • Collaborates with vendor resources; plays an active role in managing the technical build, testing and migration of the system
  • Completes specific task activities as documented on the Work Plan.
  • Contributes to preparation of testing scripts and materials and performs unit, system, and integrated testing tasks.
  • Documents and maintains all required system design and build documents and configures system accordingly.
  • Engages the clinical and business community to ensure their voices are heard, their needs are met and they are kept informed of project progress.
  • Performs in depth analyses of workflows, data collection, report details and other technical issues associated with the use of their respective system.
  • Promotes a team atmosphere that is conducive to the overall accomplishment of goals, schedules, and deadlines.
  • Provides expertise and experience to the development of production environment readiness plan.
  • Provides for on-call support once the go-live activities commence and production support is required.
  • Must attend required Epic training.
  • Maintains the Charge Description Master in Epic for all facilities.
  • Duties include updates to the CDM, Cost Center Assignment Table and other related tables to facilitate the integrity and accuracy of the charging process
  • Works closely with the Revenue Integrity team, Clinical teams to maintain the CDM and advise clinical teams on charging related questions.
  • Works with Departmental charge owners on charge related reports and resolving charging related issues


  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent knowledge and skills obtained through a combination of education, training, and experience in a Healthcare environment required.
  • Five (5) years relevant experience in a challenging healthcare environment preferred.
  • Experience in business information system management in a hospital or ambulatory care setting preferred.
  • Experience in clinical information system management in an acute or ambulatory care setting preferred.
